Gridiron Australia has arranged the Gridiron Australia Insurance Plan on behalf of our members, their affiliate leagues, clubs and referee associations. All participants (Players, Coaches, Officials) must be registered with GA in order to obtain coverage under the plan.
Participation in the plan is compulsory for all teams competing in competitions managed by GA and/or member leagues, and an Insurance Levy is payable by all members annually.
Whilst the plan provides basic levels of cover for players and others participating in Gridiron, it is not all encompassing (this is necessary to keep the cost of insurance affordable for players) and does not seek to replace the need for private health and other insurances. GA encourages all players and officials to take out their own private health insurance, life insurance and ‘Top Up’ coverage over and above the coverage provided under this plan.
